Backpackers moments #3

Waiting for the rain to pass in Tel Aviv. Some rented bicycles, some will walk - all will explore Tel Aviv and Jaffa.

Have a weekend to remember.

I reckon they are sorting out sleeping arrangements for tonight, Louis...the major pre-occupation of backpackers.
Louis: A lot of that is going on in every backpackers, every day. The best twist I have come across, was in Jerusalem. During breakfast time, John called a meeting of the 2 male dorm's occupants. He had difficulty with sleeping, because of nocturnal carpentry. John felt that they could swop occupants, so that the snorers could occupy one dorm and the silent brigade in the other. Snorers didn't mind and the silent lot was enthusiastic. After the swop, John ended up with the snorers. He was not happy. It was his idea and now look what happened, why can't he have some benefit? So the silent brigade took him to one side and as humanely as possible explained to him, that his snoring puts him among the top of the class. He remained huffed, because he doesn't snore. Some more people brought the message. Later I asked him. He has one sister and as only boy, he always had his own room. As student he lives in a single room/flat. Nobody ever told him that he snores and like most snorers, he never heard himself snore.
everybody seems to be so friendly Louis....petersmile
Louis: People in backpackers have to be friendly. After all you are sharing; there should be trust, because you have to sleep. Also, one day we came back, to a rainy late afternoon. How everybody there played card games, chess and other games or just chatting - in the communal kitchen. All despite various nationalities and sometimes language barriers.
They all seem enjoying each others company Louis. Fine capture.
Enjoy the weekend.
Louis: Thank you Richard. There are all the more people to get to know.

Interesting Louis: I never associate that part of the world with rain
Louis: They have rainy parts (in winter) and dry parts, Chris.
Sometimes waiting around for the rain to pass is part of the camaraderie, I'm sure. Have a great weekend yourself, Louis.
Louis: Time to get to know some more people. The vibes at some backpackers are quite interesting. Maybe, when you have to share lodgings, talking comes a lot easier.
At least there is shelter Louis.
Louis: So there is, gutteridge
Nice to have the tent structure to keep off the rain and sun. Good weekend to you, Sir.
Louis: Thank you Mary. Staying dry so that one can go swim in the sea, is quite important smile
I hope it didn't rain for 40 days and 40 nights Louis
Louis: I didn't stay that long, Bill.
Serious debate going on!
Louis: There is a lot of exchange of info. Have you been ... Have you done ... This is the best ... The best route ... Someone may differ and debate will ensue.

The guy on the right looks absolutely knackered.
Louis: Have you noticed all the bicycles, Richard?
Everybody seems pretty happy!
Loved your story to Ray!
Louis: The people in backpackers tend to be happy, Elizabeth. It is not as comfortable to stay there, but it is very interesting from the people point of view.
nike, slippers and all manner of footwear, Louis. good shot
Louis: Strange thing is that they all walk a lot and each find his/her own footwear the comfortable option. Thanks Ayush.
