Fire on the table

The fire for the evening meal is burning high. Soon we will be roasting, baking and boiling from this fire. The bowl on the right, contains the dough of a herb bread. The bowl is placed near the fire so that the work of the yeast can be accelerated. When we are having coffee afterwards, the 2 rhino's will arrive for some hay. They will remain a respectful 10 yards away. That proximity takes some time to get used to. It was only during the second evening that I could start concentrating on the conversation of the other people.

May this weekend bring you some great fireside conversations.

Catalyses the imagination wonderfully, Louis.
Louis: A haven in the deep bush. Thank you Ray.
Superbes couleurs !
Louis: Merci beaucoup, Martine

I love your description and the wonderful colour combination in the evening - I wished I could join you.
Louis: Dies ist ein Game Farm in Namibia. Der Landwirt ist verheiratet mit Julia, geboren in Dresden. So, I am sure you would have enjoyed it.
LOL, Louis. Rhinos anywhere in the vicinity would certainly high-jack my attention!
Louis: When you sit on a chair, just a small stampede away, you are impressed by their size and aware of every move. They tend to be attention grabbers smile

Rhinos eh, better you than me Louis!
Louis: I was a bit nervous, but after the first evening I was cautiously at home smile

What an experience, Louis, with the rhinos on hand
Louis: It was quite a nature's experience, thank you Lisl.
This sounds great Louis and I bet the food tastes good. What enjoyable experiences you have.
Louis: The normal you know. Steak, wors, homemade bread (steaming fresh) - you know, the normal braai fare - and everything perfectly cooked.
Are you near a beach, I wonder, noticing the sandy floor. This is a beautiful image, Louis. I am spending my weekend playing with children!!
Louis: The nearest beach would be around 400 kms away. This is in the heartland of the Kalahari semi-desert - explaining the sandy floor. Enjoy those grandchildren.
Terrific atmospheric shot Louis, your words make it all sound very inviting, including the Rhinos.
Louis: The nearest spot of civilisation is about 80kms away, requiring 4x4 at places. One day, when Queen Elizabeth remember I am her long lost cousin, I will buy me a place like this...

I doubt if we will be able to match you for atmosphere, but I hope to be doing some wining and dining.

A sunset with a difference.
Louis: Each atmosphere to his own. Enjoy the wining and dining - you make me think, maybe I should do some steaks on the coals. Thank you, blackdog.
Wonderful sky, Louis!
Louis: Thank you Tom.
Great shot... we have a restaurant where they do something like this, but it isn't nearly as impressive...
Louis: Thanks Larry, that would be an interesting dine.
