C'est le pied !
Louis: Certes, c'est un pied, Martine.
Who's toes would they be?
Louis: Some young guy in an outdoor coffee shop in Zurich. There definitely was a time that he wore shoes, two sizes too small.

They look as if they have walked a long way, Louis
Louis: It is more a case of shoes being too small. See how the outer two toes are bent inwards? A sure sign.
What is the winner Louis?
Louis: The toe that does not cramp smile

Yours Louis?
Louis: Mine is a lot older, Chris.
Welcome back. I see you have hot footed it from wherever you were
Louis: Thank you Bill. Yes and I am still cooling my heels.
What's with the little toe nail Louis, seems hardly worth the effort.
Louis: The guy objected when I wanted to pull it.
I am thinking this must mean something like 'crossing your fingers' for good luck? I have not heard of 'holding the toes'.
Louis: The way I understand it, it will mean to wait in suspension. Something similar to "holding one's breath".
A pedicure might possibly help????
Louis: On some nails they will require a magnifying glass, Ginnie.

They look in better shape than mine - shoes were always too small.
Louis: This guy also suffered from too small shoes - maybe not as bad as yours smile I have family members who also suffered that infliction, but myself was part of a gang of boys, who thought shoes are for other people. Even skated bare feet on ice patches.
Those toes don't look in the best of shape!
Louis: Growth stunted by small shoes, I believe, Tom.
they are rough looking toes Louis....petersmile
Louis: Indeed they are, peter.

The things we do to our blameless feet!
Louis: Very true. We realised you can remove your shoes, which we did most of the time until going to secondary school.
