Farmhouse sunset

With this picture I will take a break, of a week or so. Tonight some Dutch guests will arrive and on Friday, my youngest daughter will get married. She will be the last of the brood to leave the house and then we will happily suffer from Empty Nest Syndrome.

A very peaceful image for me to glance at every day until you return, Louis.
Louis: Thank you Ray. I dug up this one for the purpose smile
Lovely image, Louis!
Congratulations on your daughters' marriage!
My coworker will be coming home to South Africa for Christmas... she'll be gone a month and we will suffer without her- but I'm so pleased she'll get to see her family!
Louis: Thanks and thank you, Elizabeth.

Most people I know have family somewhere in the wide world. My family (mom and dad's decent) - not that many. My older brother has two daughters - one in the US and the other in Saudi - but she is moving to California early next year.
So, starting with Sinterklaasdag, you'll have a week of celebration. I happened to be one of those who LOVED the empty nest. Maybe you will, too? Lots of time to enjoy the sunsets. smile
Louis: I believe I will love the empty nest. It is written that there is a time to come and a time to go. We watched a televised movie the other night (British and can't remember the name, but it was about a wedding) - in it the statement was made that the groom was in it for the marriage and the bride was in it for the wedding. Not necessary a golden rule - but I found a very interesting comment - what with the hullabaloo being made of weddings, nowadays.

Oh, what a great, broad, big sky - yes, you'll have a week of celebration! My best wishes for you all and especially for your daughter!
Louis: Thank you Philine. I think they make a good couple and that makes me happy.

How nice to be out there under a sky like this one Louis
Louis: It is - with a cold beer and the sounds of nature preparing for the night.
I hope the wedding goes well. Lovely parting picture!
Louis: If the bride behave, it will go well. Weddings have become such exhausting affairs. At least I think they will be a good couple - makes me happy.
Oh yes, the dreaded ENS Louis. I hope that you will not suffer too much, I know some people who never get over it. Our youngest flew away in 1994.
Louis: I am looking forward to that empty nest - since it comes about in the normal way. Get married and git. I have been an active parent for 36 years and I am deserving a rest grin

Big skies.

Congratulations to your daughter and enjoy your mini break.
Louis: Thank you blackdog. It will be a busy break, but should be enjoyable.
I spent the weekend with two of my children, who gave me the ENS in 2003. It makes you love them more - when you can go to their homes , and they clean up after you for a change.

Have a good time with your visitors, friends and family and goodness, won't the house be nice and quiet when it's all over.
Louis: I seriously believe they only start to understand what they had, once they start to row their own boat. With my other children - it is so nice to be their guest smile Thank you MAry.
Magnifique paysage, les couleurs sont sublimes.
Louis: Merci beaucoup, Martine.
A fine image to start your short break Louis. May you all be blessed with happiness this week and through and after your festivities at the weekend.
Louis: Thank you Brian, a time of mixed feelings and prayers.

HA I doubt that you will suffer from the empty nest syndrome. I think you already have lots of plans to do. Enjoy your time with the family. Congratulations with the marriage, is this the daughter who loves horses and is a good rider??
Fabulous picture, what a way to leave for a while.
Louis: She is the one tht loves horses and still is riding. Thanks for the comment and good wishes.
what a beautiful golden hour with such a big sky to send us off for a while...
our congratulations to your daughter and her husband....petersmile
Louis: Thanks for the comment and good wishes, peter.
beautiful sunset, Louis, i like the balance of colour tones in the sky and the silhouette is perfectly done.
Louis: Thanks Ayush. It was a great moment and I couldn't keep my shutter finger still.

Another wonderful sunset image!
Louis: Thank you Philine
It all seems very homey till I notice the trees...
Louis: Semi-desert - the trees provide much needed shade on the one hand, but on the other, they are full of nasty thorns.
