Wonderful, quirky image, Louis...should be the opening scene of a movie about a dynasty of farming types...
Louis: I can just imagine the movie, Ray. There should be at least two brothers with opposite characters, contesting future ownership, while dad is still alive.
Nice shot, Louis! Are they employed to keep the field groomed?
Louis: No Elizabeth. The pig is kept for bacon and the cows for milk, until they are a good steak age.
What a nice shot, Louis, it would have been good even without the animals.
Louis: In our world, the animals complete the rural context. Thanks Frank.
A bit better, I'm sure than the lion lying down with the lamb, Louis? smile
Louis: Well, football is one of man's sins, Ginnie smile

And that looks like a rather forlorn goalpost too. The hills are magnificent
Louis: Thank you Chris. The goalpost will become alive when the children are out to play.

and the wideness of the countryside ... We humans look up to the high mountains. Where are we?
Louis: This is in the Verlorenkloof area, in Mphumalanga, South Africa.

I like your contrasting muted colours here, Louis, and as Frank says, the animals are abonus
Louis: Thank you Lisl - a little left-over from the winter. Taken a few months ago.
No nets Louis, that could lead to some interesting discussions.
Louis: That can happen, gutterdige.
Route one football would be the only option here so would suit most English players
Louis: Okay, I had a great laugh smile Thanks Bill.

Jolies couleurs pour ce paysage.
Louis: Merci beaucoup, Martine.
Love this shot where I feel the atmosphere.
Louis: Thank you Mary. One of the places where a little snow fall every three years or so. It will disappear within 48 hours.
This is a fine shot Louis, the recession in colour of the background is excellent.
Louis: Thank you Brian. The appearance of the colours is partly due to the approaching storm.
great shot Louis... is that a football goal... and if so the pig has to work harder to keep the grass a bit shorter....petersmile
Louis: It is a goalpost sans net. The pig's only mission is to grow fat and become bacon, peter.
Looks a bit neglected as a football pitch!
Louis: The kids play there every day. They only have sickles and no mowers for maintenance.
I love that one framed cow...
