Barn swallow

Flew around, above the water and sometimes took a dip, or dipped something, or maybe the swallow swallowed some water. I am not sure which. Anyhow, I guessed the next dip and came up with this picture.

My absence on Monday was due to the death of my PC monitor. I have a new one, now.

Brilliant shot Louis, looks like he's just had a flying drink
Louis: Thank you Chris. Drinking was one possibility - could also have been taking insects from the water surface.

Wonderful catch, Louis.

[This is a great series!]
Louis: Thank you Ray - I am digging up old pictures.
Ehat a gorgeous shot, Louis, and a gorgeous bird. It is not at all like our barn swallows. Our barn swallows spend a lot of tome in mud puddles as that is where they get the material for their clay nests that cling to barn beams and rafters.
Louis: What this one was doing, I am not sure - probably drinking water. Our barn swallows also do mud digging - somewhere I have some pictures of that activity.
Great timing Louis.
Louis: Thank you Brian.
Of course you would time this perfectly, Louis. Good for you! And now you have a new monitor. YAY.
Louis: New and bigger. I see a lot better. Thank you Ginnie.
Great shot, Louis - a lovely looking bird!
Louis: Thank you Tom. A bit of a lucky shot as well.
Just look at the beads of water... amazing...
Louis: The camera's freezing of the moment, can be special.
