Ah ah, j'adore la forme de sa tête.
Louis: On dirait un marteau ; tandis que d'autres disent qu'il ressemble à une enclume.

What a descriptive name, Louis! Like Spoonbill and Shoveler
Louis: Some people refer to it as an anvil head, but the most common is hammerhead. I like it when the names are descriptive - less to remember smile

Is he performing the strike of death Louis?
Louis: Personally, I don't understand the strategy - how it can catch something in the fast flowing water. Normally, it will be looking for crustaceans in shallow pools.
She definitely has her eye on the prize, Louis. TEXTBOOK.

What a modern hairstyle!
Louis: Almost a mullet smile
This bird has a very sharp look Louis. Great photograph.
Louis: Thank you gutteridge - almost military
No doubt where it got it's name. Love the shot with the frozen water.
Louis: Thank you Mary - I like it when the name of the bird is descriptive.
It has a most unusually shaped head but I guess it's right for the job in hand.
Louis: Most of the shape is made up by feathers. The strong beak is for hammering crabs and the likes.
Well named. He has the look of a modern Pterodactyl
Louis: Now that you have mentioned it - it has the bone-head look smile
Weird! I'd never even heard of it!
Louis: Well, learning is one of the things that happens for me on Shutterchance smile
I like the way it disturbs water...
Louis: Fast flowing water - it is a wonder that the hammerhead can stand in it.

This is a 'new' bird to me. What a great name and you made a wonderful portrait. Love the water around the legs.
I hope you are okay!
Louis: Thank you Astrid. Live and learn, they say. I am fine and am enjoying my newfound vision.
