Chocolate girls

The top end of a chocolate churning machine. In the background against a wall panel, you can see what the Verkade Girls from the advertising campaign of yesteryear looked like.

I will take one, thank you!
Louis: Just one? Your mother would be proud of you smile

A fabulous image, Louis.

I really like that elegant floating bearing apparatus.
Louis: Thanks Ray. All kinds of interesting machinery and still working.
I like the colors of the machine... and the floating girls!
Louis: Thank you Elizabeth. Glad you like it.
Wait. Did someone say CHOCOLATE???
Louis: My wife's uncle retired from the Verkade factory somewhere in the early 1970's. As pensioner he had the right to some Christmas parcel and also to buy at the staff shop. He knew I like the dark pure chocolate and there always were a number of slabs available when we visited. But he is also long gone.

J'aime beaucoup la décoration.
Louis: Ils sont les heureux Verkade les filles. Une campagne publicitaire des années 30.
My younger daughter would have enjoyed working in a chocolate factory
Louis: I am sure there would be more volunteers smile
So,egging I did not know about Louis, that chocolate machine has few safety guards, it must be quite old.
Louis: It is an old one and still working. Only, in the museum, it is churning some chocolate looking sludge. The spinning gear/wheel is way out of reach of anyone - so hardly a threat. Still the machine is old.

Those were the days.... and these ladies were famous. I saw your reply to Ginnie... lucky you on the dark chocolate. Great machine and I love the movement in it.
Louis: The unintentional thing about the dark chocolate was, that I was the only one liking it back then and nobody wanted to share.
looks like a simple construction, Louis. i like it, especially the blur around the belt drive.
