Aanbieding: Plate Lekkerbek

Eel nets in front of the fish restaurant in Den Oever. This will close the visit to the Netherlands and from next week onwards, you can travel through Portugal with me.

Aanbieding: Plate Lekkerbek. The language is a bit mixed - translated: "Special: Plate Lekkerbek", where the lekkerbek is a fish (hake in this case) in a light batter and since it is a plate; there will be chips and salads.

Have a nice break in the mean time.

Louis: You probably can't catch the right fish to make a lekkerbek in your lake, but maybe try it with some other fish?

Caught a bicycle, Louis.

I have enjoyed you eclectic tour of the nether-regions, and look forward to Portugal.
Louis: Yes, a bicycle works wonders in the flat countries, Ray. See you in Portugal.

.....or..... they forgot an 't'... 'platte lekkerbek'... 'flat hake'... smile... I think they get the message and I really like this picture. More Dutch you cannot get. I am already in the front seat of the bus, okay let's go to Portugal.....
Louis: Well, you had me look up. As I remember they use "plate" in the shop as well. So I checked their menu https://viscentrehetwad.nl/menu/ and yes, they use "plate". See you in Portugal, Astrid.

Lekker makes me think of the German word for delicious - Lecker.
Louis: You pronounce it the same and it has the same meaning, gutteridge.

Jolie façon de présenter les filets.
Louis: Oui, je suis d'accord Martine et juste eu à prendre une photo.
I've thoroughly enjoyed your take on Dutchland, Louis. Next time, however, we'd like to join you for at least part of the visit!
Louis: Thank you Ginnie. Hopefully it will come to that, one day.

Oh, ik hou van het woordje 'lekkerbek', ik ben ook een lekkerbekje. I like your photo, but I wonder that there is only one fiets. Where are the fietsers?
Louis: Een lekkerbekje of een smulpaap smile 'K denk dat de plaatslijke bevolking 50 meter weg, achter de dijk wonen. Daar was ook weinig auto's, maar binne was de zaak wel druk.

Fish traps. If so why are they here strung up between two poles?
Louis: To mark the entrance of a fish restaurant, Chris.

So all this indicates a fish restaurant - how I would like to try it
Louis: If you like fish, you will thoroughly enjoy the place. They are master chefs, as far as I am concerned.
Sounds like a tasty place to visit Louis.
Louis: One of the better ones, Brian.
a nice shot, Louis. did you ride that bicycle? have a good weekend.
Louis: Thank you Ayush. We came by car, since we were busy touring the greater area.
Too bad you had to catch your own fish. smile I enjoyed the trip.
Louis: Thank you Mary. On this occasion, someone else did the catching. But I have used smaller versions of such nets to trap eel in the canals and of course it was not very legal, since I had no permit.
Well I enjoyed your tour of the Netherlands and will look forward to Portugal. Have a good weekend
Louis: Thank you Bill. I will try to serve Portugal up in a proper manner.
Dutch fish and chips, eh? smile
Louis: Quite so, oh learned one smile Since I have had the privilege of UK fish and chips as well as Dutch fish and chips, I can attest to the fact that they are quite different to the palate.
Wonderful shot, Louis!
Louis: Thank you Elizabeth and it is remarkable that you could spare a moment ...
