People in the Estrela park 6

What I am trying to show in these 3 pictures is the variety that makes up the Portuguese people. I am referring to the main characters in each picture - thereby excluding the patrons of the eatery in the background of the lefthand picture.

This will end the people in the park series. General Lisbon pics up next.

at least they are utilizing a good day to be outdoors and seem to be, largely, interacting with each other and not buried in their handheld devices, Louis.
Louis: The schools, colleges and people from places of work in the area; use this park big time. The young man on the left, is given a mocked by the girls after he received a text message.
A wonderful example!!
Louis: What intrigued me the most, was the very blond Portuguese - sort of unexpected like the carrot top Greek I met in Athens once. Classical Greek face structure, but with carrot red hair and freckles.

Young people are pretty comfortable sitting on the ground, whilst us older and less flexible types need a sitting assistance device.
Louis: Yes, I understand you old people have no problem going down, but it is the getting up - some issue with gravity, I believe. That is why sitting assistance is so good - you only go halfway down and the first part of the getting up fight is already won grin

Everybody seems relaxed. I wonder who the statue is of?
Louis: The statue is for João de Deus, poet and teacher, lived from 1830 to 1896 and was honoured by the city of Lisbon 100 years later.
Chad is spot on. HA!
Louis: He must have recent experiences, Ginnie smile

The Jewisch person in the centre seems to be meditating -nice observations!
Louis: He is sleeping, Philine. Maybe he can meditate while he is sleeping smile
I've enjoyed all these people shots Louis, I don't have the confidence to do that sort of photography very often.
Louis: Thank you Brian. Oh well, maybe it is a case of background. Where I am from, there are not many issues about where you point a camera.
Like so many cities a cosmopolitan mix that usually lives in reasonable harmony
Louis: Cosmopolitan, yes. What interested me, are those Nordic blond Portuguese.
i like the old fellow taking a nap sitting on the bench... or perhaps he's praying Louis...

it's wonderful to find so many people using public parks....petersmile
Louis: He was napping, for sure, peter. Park maintenance is money well spent in Portugal.
