The park - Palácio de Pena

As previously mentioned, there is a huge park surrounding the Palácio de Pena. This collage just provide a glimpse.

The Sintra landscape is filled with palaces, forts and monastries. Besides, Sintra is an interesting town to visit. I have decided to budget 3 hours for the Pena visit, as the only one of all these grand buildings to visit and then I had to move on to cover the rest I wanted to, before booking in at Ericeira. I guess what I want to say, is that Pena is worth a full day's visit. Take along a picnic basket, as the park good for a lovely hike and some more treasures to discover.

Belle présentation de ces jolies fleurs.
Louis: Merci bien, Martine
This is really a beautiful set of images of this lovely place!
Louis: Thank you Elizabeth - a lovely place indeed.
any place that has a large park with walkways and flowers like what you have shown, has got to be an attraction worth visiting, Louis.
Louis: With the main attraction of the palace, the surrounding park can be amazingly undercrowded, Ayush.

Quite a nifty presentation of this place Louis.
Louis: Thank you gutteridge.
PS. Greenland is not to be found in deep space.
I see lush and green which is always a hit with me.
Louis: With me as well, Mary.
It looks a fine place walk Louis, I like places where there is a mix of trees, shrubs and flowers rather than all one thing.
Louis: Ascending towards the palace can be tiresome, but descending helps one to appreciate the environment, Brian.
it must be nature trail week Louis... except there are no flowers left in the forest here... and many of the leaves have already fallen....petersmile
Louis: The autumn thing is probably happening in Portugal as well, peter
A really fine collage--equally interesting in every quadrant.
Louis: Thanks Larry, much appreciated.
A nice set of shots, Louis.
Louis: Thank you, Tom
