Louis: That is like the Victoria Cross for photography - thank you Ray.
Magnifique, on dirait un paysage de Bretagne.
Louis: Puis je visite la Bretagne aussi.

I imagine you followed the cliff path for a walk, Louis
Louis: Yes Lisl, I was still on the path when I took the photo. It felt dangerous, because the wind was blowing very hard. It was not dangerous, because the strong wind blew from the sea.
Oh, WOW, Louis. I can just imagine the exhilaration of being there.
Louis: It was exhilarating, yes Ginnie. Especially with a very strong wind blowing.

I just Googled this place and was amazed I've never even heard of Cape Roca and its claim to fame before Louis
Louis: ... and it is worth a visit, Chris.
I confess that i have never heard of the place and ,like Chris, didn't know its claim to fame
Louis: This is the most western point of the European continent, while the most western point of Europe is here http://louis.shutterchance.com/theme/1-all-themes/image/2013/02/18/going-west/ on the Dingle peninsula in Ireland. I thought it special that I have been to both places.

This is quite the landmark you were. What a place to live. And what a view to have.
Louis: The houses are in the first valleys, a few hundred meters from the sea. Since the wind was blowing very strong, I can imagine it would be better to live in the valleys.

A light and pleasing light house.
Louis: The compound contained quite a number of offices.
A lovely setting with those big cliffs and the little lighthouse...
Louis: All round an exhilarating place, Larry.
The water colour is so beautiful. Very nice shot!
Louis: Thanks a lot, Mary.

What a lovely vista
Louis: Thank you Anne
I'm with Bill and Chris on this one, great shot Louis. I always feel I learn something new every day from SC.
Louis: Thank you Brian. Facts, stories, techniques - yes, a lot of it get shared, I agree.
Great shot, Louis - a wonderful location, too!
Louis: Thank you Tom, I agree.
this is a superb composition taken from this angle Louis... it's to bad that they put up the steel beacon tower to ruin the look of the lighthouse... but that is progress for you....petersmile
Louis: There are some offices in the lighthouse compound, so I guess there are people working for other reasons than operating the lighthouse, like meteorology maybe. Thank you peter.
A long way down at this point
Louis: Quite so, Martin
