Ericeira - main beach

Ericeira is a seaside town, still within 'weekender' reach of Lisbon. The picture is of the main beach, with some people and their dogs. The bottom picture  is of the same people and their dogs, after I have zoomed in on them with my little bridge camera.

At the back on that rocky point, is a parking area. Just over the top of that point and served by the parking area is the Esplanade Furnas, a great fish restaurant, where you pick your fish from the daily catch (don't worry they help you understanding the types of fish), you place your order by size and the waiter will then seat you. The chef will then barbeque your fish over coals. I really enjoyed that fish and can recommend the place. You can be seated right next to the sea, so to speak. http://www.restaurantefurnasericeira.com/#/destaques for a look if you have a moment.

Such a beautiful beach! I doubt I'll ever make it to Lisbon - but I'll keep your recommendations in mind if I do!
Louis: Well, it is worth a visit. But yes, I understand about time, money and priorities smile

What a fabulous place! I am enjoying your Portugal trip, Louis.
Louis: Thank you Ray and so did I
i am guessing this place is a hit with the dogs, Louis. good to see their humans are attentive to their needs.
Louis: The general idea that I got during my visit, is that the Portuguese take good care of their dogs.
Jolie vue sur cette mer bleue.
Louis: Merci beaucoup, Martine.

This is a beautiful beach (and view) and the wall gives more protection. Love the way your camera was able to zoom in on the people on the beach.
Louis: Thank you Astrid - with the zoom, I can now know the dog breeds.

This is a slice of heaven Louis - sea, sun and that wonderful restaurant..
Louis: Indeed, it is quite a place, Chris.
I could get used to that very quickly, Louis. ALL of it. smile
Louis: The same here, Ginnie - and I am especially fond of an expertly char grilled fish ...

a very fine, sandy beach and never overcrowded.
Louis: I can imagine that during the season it can become crowded - but there is enough space and some more beaches nearby.

That is the sort ofo quiet beach that appeals to me, Louis
Louis: Watch when you go - there are a zillion tracks in the sand that suggest a lot of people. This picture was taken at 20:06 on a weekday and not in their holiday season.
You bridged the gap well here Louis. Looks like a lovely beach
Louis: Thank you Bill. Like most of these seaside towns in Portugal, there are also surfing schools. The sea offers a lot of uses, when you have this kind of weather.
Just how we like a beach to be, not many people on it, especially one like this.

I love the look of the water here. The fresh fish sounds absolutely wonderful.
Louis: Surfing and a lot of sea water activities, go on along this coast line and the Portuguese know how to prepare fish for the table. Worth a visit smile

Everyone seems to like the seaside Louis.
Louis: I can be near the sea, on the beach, etc. However, I am not one of those who can soak the sun endlessly. I grew up with the African sun that will burn you to cinders and I can't really spend hours doing nothing.
Had my first holiday in Portugal here, many years ago smile
Louis: Quite a place, Tom.
Sounds like a great place to visit...
Louis: So is the whole country, as it has an enormous variety of things to see and experience..
