Giraffe's bridge
This road in a nature reserve crosses a low water bridge. The concrete siding of the bridge can be seen on the left of the road next to the low bush. To cross over to this side the giraffe has no choice than using the bridge - a deep river (rivulet?) bed is the cause. I think the giraffe is crossing over from the weekday part of the reserve into the weekend part. So let's join the giraffe. Have a happy weekend all of you!

And the same to you.
Louis: Thanks Mary
What a wonderful shot and way of saying have a great weekend, Louis! The same to you my friend!
Louis: Thanks Janelle and go get them!
Do giraffe's take the weekend off, too?
Louis: Oh they do ray, otherwise the lions would never taste giraffe meat
Marvelous Louis, I'm please you stuck you neck out to get this one
Louis: Thanks Michelle. Not many people who understand this remark. But I have been sticking the rest out as well. Little bit of a stand-off who will cross first - I wanted the shot, so I retired a little up the opposite hill and it started to cross over. In the picture you can see I had a little height advantage because of the high ground.
I think giraffe`s are one of the most fascinating creatures, with their amazing circulatory system. Lovely photograph to take us into the weekend. (:o)
Louis: Thank Rosalyn. I tend to stop and take pictures most of the times I see them.
Great image Louis and have a good one too.
Louis: Thanks bridge, it is a long time we saw anything from you. Still traveling?
Excellent opportunity then, i guess you can almost always guarantee a shot.
Louis: Thanks Nig, you just lie and wait for them at the bridges
For me, this is such a rare sight from a world I've only read about. To think that you've experienced this in reality makes me feel a little envious.
Thank you for your lovely weekend wishes. Gleichfalls.
Louis: Thanks Kathryn. Just one plane ticket away
So, why did the giraffe cross the bridge? HA! To get to the weekend.
I love it, Louis. It actually looks like it is loping across at a fairly fast gait. You with your love of horses would like that. What a creative addition to your bridge series! Now, relax and have a great weekend.
Louis: Thanks Ginnie. We first had a little stand-off about who will cross first. I wanted the shot, so I retired a little up the opposite hill and she started to cross over. In the picture you can see I had a little height advantage because of the high ground. She was walking quite fast.
Nooit ben ik een "giraffe" zo vlakbij geweest en ik ben niet bang als zij nu loopt tegen mij toe want zij ziet erg beleefd en vriendelijk eruit- een beetje zoals een elegante Lady!
Thanks for your altijd good explanation!
Louis: Great observation Philine. She is a she and lady indeed. For the others who read this - the female giraffe's udder is between her front legs and is visible in this picture. The 'horns' are also indicators - but difficult to explain without pointing the differences out.
Have a great one too mate.
Louis: Thanks Shakara
Hehe, goed gedaan.
Even wachten. Maar in voorschouw - niks bruggen volgende week, ook geen brug naar volgende week. Tot volgende week. Is jullie al gesetteld in de nieuwe huis?
And to you too.. love giraffe.. they have such gorgeous faces.
Louis: Thanks Gale. They do look laid back indeed.
louis you lucky one, to even see this in its natural envirement!!!!, a vey nice capture here mijn vriend, please do have a nice weekend

Louis: Thanks Ernest. It was in the Krugersdorp Game Reserve - good place for birds as well. Like to see the water wastage angle.
