This Wattled Plover (African Wattled Lapwing) seems to be interested in photography.

This week I will share some of my funnier bird pictures.

What great colours and a very interesting pose,I like it
Louis: You did see the yellow? grin Thanks for the comment vintage.
''I think you're stupid cause you want to take a picture of me with that stupid camera thingy ...get a life Louis and dye your hair like me.''

Great one ... and the critter was performing as well.

Louis: What a chicken! It wouldn't say it to my face then.
I love the tilted head... he was playing with you
Louis: It must have been - thanks Chantal.

I think that i would back off at this stage, Louis.
Louis: It doesn't bite that hard and the 500mm lens is at max smile Thanks Chad.
Cocky or inquisative? The answer lies in the eye of the beholder! Great capture, Louis!
Louis: Very inquisitive I would say - it didn't charge smile Thanks Andre.

I love it Louis, we don't have anything like this.
Louis: I wouldn't have been surprised if you did, so many similar kinds of birds seen up to now. Thanks for the comment Aussie.
What an interesting bird. Is it large?
Louis: It is a plover, oh yes and they come in big and small. So let me try something else - the size of a half-grown chicken - it is long legged but the body would be equal to a large pigeon. The best I can do off-hand, Mary.

LOL what the hell do you think you are doing taking my picture with out asking firstsmile
Louis: Either that or it has an eye for a beautiful photographer [heh, heh] thanks Tracy.
LOL. Very funny picture. Well done!!
Louis: Thank you Frank
lol well its a great one to start off with Louis, superb capture at that focal length.
Louis: Thank you tim, one bad streak I have with the birds is to keep on shooting beyond the limits of the lens (as the day closes) - therefore it is a bit soft.
Delightful Louis, if the rest are as good as this I will be smiling all week!
Louis: Thanks Bill, the next one is sort of up Ray's creek/alley.
Great shot! What is the Afrikaans name for this guy? Now I wonder what the shot would have looked like with a EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM? Just teasing...
Louis: Lelkiewiet. The answer to your wondering: Better. I am now beyond teasing, I am in the drooling phase. Just let me finish up with SARS ...

nice colour but it's the whimsical expression that seals it!
Louis: I agree PhotoSam, thanks
Jajajaj! It's very fun this shot !!!! Louis, this bird, you are safe that no speak ???? it seems he has to say something !
Louis: Maybe the bird said something. I did not understand. I may be the loser. Maybe the bird was trying to tell me where the millions are buried. smile
This is a great capture. I love the way he appears to be puzzling over you. (:o)
Louis: That is exactly what it was doing and I will always wonder if it was the camera or I. Thanks Rosalyn.
