Spectator

Due to workload and a lot of events on the social calendar, my blogging from now until somewhere in November 09 will be irregular.

Irregular as you may be, Louis, that is one enormous spectator...to keep watch over you!
Louis: I sometimes wish I could have it along to assist with convincing those that need to be convinced smile

I see he is pissed about not being on your social calendar.

Happy you had that 250mm plus lens between you and him?

Nice shot.
Louis: Heck John, you know about african animals. That lifted foot is a sign of slight irritation. It was not in must, so I took a chance (couple of chances). The lens is a 100-400 - I did go for best fit in portrait style.
This is a superb portarit of this great beast Louis. Good luck with the workload.
Louis: Thank you on both charges Chad.

Amazing that you just run into o9ne of these on a drive through the country.
Louis: Well, not everywhere. I was visiting a client's mine in this area. Their mine is also a nature reserve. They have all kinds of animals walking about on the premises, including elephant and lions. To manage this they employ three game wardens as well, who monitors the dangerous animals and persuade them to stay away from the office buildings.
Fantastic animals Louis and certainly one to fear especially when that close.
Louis: You are right about that Bernie

Oh wow!

One of those "classic" shots everybody wants to achieve.

Good to hear you're busy in these uncertain times, but don't work too hard. smile
Louis: Thank you Ellie. We are aware of the economic slump and in certain sectors eg. diamond mining it is really bad. In general however we are not as badly hit as some other countries like the UK and USA. Main contributor is possibly an act against senseless credit that was introduced in the beginning of 2007 - just in time.
Cracking nature shot Louis, the tones on the Elephant are excellent !!
Regards Jim
Louis: Thank you jim - living over here provide many opportunities to practice smile
A superb and impressive shot Louis. I wish you good luck with the workload.
Louis: Thanks richard. I thought I will come and have a quick look how you guys are doing. I am just about managing the work - got to get back to it.
I start thinking about my trip to Kenya in 2005 looking at this picture, beautiful animal smile

The second Elephant today...I might tell you about the first one in a coupple of months...
Louis: Thanks Aksel. You have my attention smile but I will wait a couple of months.
A great shot of a scary but grand beast.
