F A B U L O U S, Louis. A Likey for me. Just the right amount of color for these marvelous birds.
Louis: Oh, thank you Madame. I am honoured. (Read with a southern accent smile) I also have beautiful pictures of them in flight and maybe will blog that one day.

Aren't these daft looking things Louis: designed by a committee perhaps?
Louis: You should have seen what the committee members looked like grin

Later resting in quietness:

Flamingos
by Rainer Maria Rilke

Like mirror-images of canvases by Fragonard
reflecting shimmering hues of whited and red,
they offer you no more than if
a friend said casually of his love:

‘She was still sleeping softly.’ They step
from water basin to the island´s green,
high on their stilt-like rosy legs, to gather
resembling more a flowering bed of blossoms
as they seductively hold court, more cunningly than Phryne,

Until, with pallid eyes, their slender necks and beaks
seek refuge, hiding deep within their downy wings,
where tints of black hide with the red of ripened fruit.

Quite suddenly the air is pierced by shrieks of jealousy;
they only stretch themselves and look astonished
as they stride singly past into the imaginary.

Auf einmal kreischt ein Neid durch die Voliere;
sie aber haben sich erstaunt gestreckt
und schreiten einzeln ins Imaginäre.

Rainer Maria Rilke, 1908
Louis: Beautiful. After considering the content, I am sure that Rilke has taken time to observe flamingos.
Lots to smile at in this shot. Wonderful!
Louis: Thank you Mary. Can you imagine how they would be landing in snow? Brrr smile The season is slowly starting to turn over here, so hold your thumb.
Beautiful Louis just simply beautiful . You have captured these beautiful birds in their natural habitat perfectly. Where was this photo taken if you don't mind me asking.
Louis: Thank you Laurette. The shot was taken at the Walvis Bay lagune.

Beautiful shot of Fred/Ginger dancing across the shallow water.
Louis: Oh, when she looked up in his eyes ...

You remember how, when she looked in his eyes, her chest was puffed out and there was a sheeny look to the picture. And they got payed for acting.

Quite an amazing capture Louis. Well done. A likey for me!
Louis: Merci m'sieur. It is an honour again.
Very nice! One day I want to see them in the flesh.
Louis: Thank you JP. With all your travels, you haven't seen them in flesh? Wow.
BTW I tried to view and comment on your site, but everything is tied down under a frog in an ice cube. Following the suggested URL in the frog picture, brings me no joy.
