Excellent DOF and composition. That's a dapper little bird on a wire.
Louis: Thanks Red Pen. Bird on a wire
I love this. You gave justice to this tiny creature.
Louis: Thank you M'roy - they are beautiful birds even if named a 'common' stonechat.
Lovely shot of an unfamiliar bird to these parts.
Louis: Thank you Mary - we have hundreds types of birds that will be unfamiliar outside SA. From there by bird picture quest
Stunner!
I also like that you used the landscape format, and gave the barbed wire some room to make its statement. Great image, Louis.
Louis: Thank you ray, I can only but try. THe little suckers must still allow me these moments
Great shot I agree with Ray the barbed wire makes a statment
Louis: Thank you vintage
Truly a bird on a wire. Nice shot
Louis: Thank you Stan
Great capture Louis. The lighting is superb!
Louis: Thanks Richard. The sun was over my shoulder, a luxury that the birds seldom afford me.
Oh, Louis this is perfect, wish I'd taken it.
Can I ask what brand your 500mm is?
Louis: Thanks Aussie. It is a Sigma 50-500
He really pops out, nice one, maybe a clones to get rid of the flower at the bottom?
Oh and I agree with Ray.
Louis: Thanks Nigel. I did try the clone, but the inherent pattern, graininess and tone variation made that almost impossible - maybe if I had a lot of time. Also not enough space to crop it out. In the end decided to go with it.
That is a beautiful bird and I like the focus on the wire fence.
Louis: Thank you chad
what a great capture, very good DOF
Louis: Thank you Chantal
Louis you would have loved it at Malham Cove m8, waht with the falcons and all, will try get a shot when i go back, if its owt like your bird shots i will be well happy
Louis: If I remember well, you have blogged some great falcons sometime ago. I will be waiting for Malham Cove falcons.
Great colors and sparse composition! It is a little soft, and I think I would have removed the stalk of grass. Lovely shot regardless, though.
Louis: Thank Martin. I agree that the grass stalk should be removed - a quick attempt wouldn't work and I just didn't have the time for slow surgery
Splendid bird
Louis: Thank you mats
Louis, dit is geweldig, so sharp, so beautiful, the barbed wire is just a treat with the bird, one of my wishes, photograph a bird...and in focus...and not a seagul...
Louis: Heh, heh 'not a seagull'. Thanks for the comment Astrid.
You have made wire contribute to beauty - that is not easy...
Louis: Thank you Aksel
Nicely caught Louis, the barbed wire makes a change from sticks and branches.
Louis: Thanks Les. An interesting viewpoint
The beauty of the bird in contradiction with the hawthorn steel. A well caught very good idea and in addition! I congratulate to you!
Louis: Thank you José Angel Sáez-Díez
Superb quality Louis.
Louis: Thank you Bill
What a cute little bird!
Louis: Thank you Ana
Don't know how I missed this yesterday, Louis! But it's idyllic. I am such a lovere of your bird shots...from way back when!
Louis: There is so much to distract in A'dam - lucky you. Thanks for the comment Ginnie.
Great capture, Louis ! The colours are fantastic, but care with the bird, does not prick itself!
Louis: Thanks cashondeo. The birds are clever and used to thorn trees. No pricking
Well done! We have these in the UK too
Louis: Thanks Chris. I find it interesting that they are in the UK too. I am more used to the fact that we share migratory birds and sparrows
incredible nice!
Louis: Thank you nazanina
I almost can't stop looking at this photo. I find it quite intriguing.
