There is great beauty in this image, Louis.
The dew droplets are wonderful gems, but their bed of weathered wood is what really makes this image special.

aha...i have also been trying these out. Makes for lekker interesting shots. This shot is interesting as by the suns reflections it looks quite late in the morning already (9/10ish?) yet the dewdrops are still there?

Louis: It was still before 8. The poles are long in shade as the sun travels its path. At the time the sun has just hit the pole with the dew - the reason why part is still dark.

I didn't think the focus made this a better or worse pic when I first looked at it - when I look at it now I'm wondering.....shouldn't this be a little more in focus with the aperture at 40.... Could it be that the inside of the drop is in focus....did you use a tripod....sorry Louis can't help you more that that. I still have the same comment as last time - I like this pic

Louis: Thanks a lot Aksel. This past weekend I have taken pictures of many of the same subjects of a couple of weeks ago, but then using the comments made on last Friday's picture. I do get different results. For more than a year now, I have shot most of my pictures in RAW. The past 5 months or so I have used PS CS3 to convert from RAW. I have now discovered that PS makes changes during the conversion - the changes in colour tones being the most important I could pick up so far. This picture also looks a little sharper when converted with Zoombrowser (a Canon program).
I have used the tri-pod and remote shutter release. But I still think with aperture 40 it could have been better. Personnally I believe the sharpness issue has to do with shooting against the sun - but it is a theory. The parts that look sharper when converted with Zoombrowser is the grooves in the wood between the dewdrops. Thanks again for taking a look.
