...and a vintage one at that.
This is a superb picture, Louis, and invokes a strong sense of nostalgia for my market-gardening days many years ago. The back-drop is gorgeous, too.
Louis: Thank you ray, can you be that old
Now I wish I could compare your Farmall with Don and Ruth's in Michigan, Louis. Those vintage tractors sure get around! And look how proudly this one frames your landscape!
Louis: Thanks Ginnie, tomorrow you will get a closer look.
A nice view! And over all there is "my" wonderful white cloud in the centre of the pic! Prettige pinksteren toegewenst van Philine
Louis: Thank you Philine and best wishes to you too.
Very nice composition, Louis.
Louis: Thanks chad, I wonder how it would go down Route 66
Great shot Louis, love the framing and the countryside looks fantastic.
Louis: Thank you Tracy - so when are you coming for a visit?
I really like this one. I didn't reallize that a Farmall was a tractor until I read Ginnie's comment!!
Louis: Thanks martie, the Farmall is a range of tractors made by International Harvester. If you are interested you can read up in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farmall_tractor
Love the background and that bright white cloud.
Louis: Thank you Mary
The unobvious choice of DOF works quite well here.
Louis: Thank you Martin. I have committed to a new project today and may have to follow your 3 days a week policy.
Nice compostion Louis. Terrific shot.
Louis: Thanks Aussie, are you still healing the chinese?
From the thumb I thought this was a jeep and a helmeted soldier ... but in fact this is so much better. richard
Louis: Thanks Richard - the jeep and soldier thing is very low key here nowadays
super composition Louis of a grand view, would never have thought of something like that, i would now cheers
Louis: Thank you tim, I guess that it is on a sunny day was an important ingredient to make the foreground DOF work.
Great shot Louis. I really like the idea!
Louis: Thanks for this comment Richard
Nice one. I have to "re-focus" my eyes there!
Louis: Thanks Peter, this is the new eye test site
Love this shot, great view...I did not know the word Farmall either, tractor for us...stunning shot.
Louis: Thanks Astrid, the Farmall is a USA built tractor by International Harvester. That said, I can not remember to ever having seen one in the netherlands.
Lovely composition. so many things to look at !! Great work. :o) John
Louis: Thanks for the appreciative comment John
It's a neat combo of images and it almost feels like two pictures in one.
Louis: Thank you Jewlya, its my way of saving space on the memory card
I like the pic, comp and the background but I'm just a city boy so what's a Farmall ?
Louis: Well johnny, the Farmall is a tractor brand built by International Harvester since 1926 (the year my dad was born). I believe they are not manufactured anymore. City boy to city boy. My advantage is that I have a lot of farmers in the extended family.
Thank goodness somebody else knows what a Farmall is, I hadn't a clue
Louis: Live and learn
I like the DOF - it's like two stories at the same time - connected. The cloud is beutiful too
Louis: Thanks Aksel. Come to think of it, it is my first picture with deliberate foreground DOF.
