The shadows really add something. This may be the most rusted thing I've laid eyes on. Wow.
Louis: Thanks Red Pen, there were actually two of them standing side by side.
One of your very best images, Louis...IMHO.
Is she still a working tractor, or does her life consist of occasional visits from perching birds, and noisy kids?
Louis: The part about the birds etc is the correct assumption - thanks ray.
Totally full of character, Louis. Wow. Farmall could use this for their advertising, for sure. It's like the energizer bunny, never running out of charm.
IMHO, this would be even more powerful if you cropped to just below that green line. And I LOVE your border.
Louis: Thank you Ginnie. I don't think that IH is still making the Farmall. About the IMHO - the next comment likes the fine hints of nature
Oh, rust is beautiful- photographed in this way! I like the fine hints to nature (shadow of a tree, some green of the meadow).
Louis: Thanks Philine - 't was een trekker op de kaasboerderij. Morgen de kaas.
I love the texture and this shadow on it !!! Great symetry too ... Well done !!!
Louis: Thanks for this comment Ann.
They just keep on going Louis and this is a winner. rust and all
Louis: Thanks Tracy, yes sometimes you find the most photographable relics on farms.
I like the shadow on top in the pic - I also like the texture and colours....overal it's a very fine composition. Is it me or is it just a tiny bit unsharp...
Louis: I think it is you Aksel. You need to go see an optometrist. No, jokes aside, considering handheld and 1/30 secs - it is a bit unsharp. I have decided to blog it anyway because I liked the rest of the result.
Beautifully coroded, Louis. I like this very much.
Louis: Thank you chad
The rust is eating this vehicle.Great colours Louis
Louis: So it is - with metal age can bring beauty
Great rusty shot Louis, well done
Louis: Thank you Aussie
I like rusty old things and this is the king. Fabulous.
Louis: I thought that after your pic and comments of yesterday, that you will enjoy this one Mary.
I like the falling shadow over the car hood
Louis: Thanks Chantal, it does add a nice shape.
Great capture Louis I like the rust texture and the shadow! Excellent symmetry too.
Louis: Thank you Richard - had to do a little work for the symmetry
Nice rusty old tractor
Louis: Thanks for the comment Bill
Ah so that's what a Farmall is, interesting she has a nice shade of brown to her ! Looks like a nice place for a bird to roost.
Louis: A brilliant tan she has
NOW tell me Louis ... Does this tractor do as it says and ''Farm all''.;-)
As much as we all love this bit of rusty grunge ... I think it needs a few more years to get it really corroded and flaking... Maybe a decade in a British limate would help. richard
Louis: I did read up about it yesterday and apparently they have many models that can do most farm work. See http://www.caseih.com/products/series.aspx?seriesid=2482&RL=ENNA and also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farmall_tractor
Our climate around where I live is far from the sea and definitely drier than anywhere in the UK - rust is more from rains than anything else around here.
GREAT one, love the rust, love the shadow, strong picture, the border is a beauty too, Louis waar komt de naam Farmall vandaan, is dat een merknaam wat een naam werd voor een voorwerp zoals deze tractor??
Louis: Thanks Astrid. Dit is een merknaam van de amerikaanse International Harvester. Kijk ook http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farmall_tractor
I think the green upper right is a bit distracting in this one, but I like the deep rust color on this beauty
Louis: Thanks Magnus, you sway the verdict. It is now 2 against and one for the green patch
quality shot Louis, particularly like the shadow and the glimpse of the meadow
Louis: Oh heck now you have changed the voting about the glimpse - thanks, the glimpses are leading the cutters now
A nice one - I've posted some agricultural engine few months ago, this old one is great and your composition very accurate !
Louis: Thanks for the comment Zebigleb - these old machines do make great pictures.
Can't beat a bit of rust and corrosion to get an interesting effect, well seen Louis.
Louis: Thanks for the comment Les
niiiice! a true farm truck name!
Louis: Thanks liam - so it is.
