Like a volcanic explosion. Very nice! A good weekend to you too.
Louis: Thank you Mary - quite a head the cloud has.
Super photo,I like the for ground detail
Louis: Thanks vintage, yes I like it too.
a storm on the horizon, Louis. A glorious late afternoon storm where the temperature will drop along with the pressure and it turns dark and then the wind picks up and makes us feel as we can fly for just that instance. And then the sky opens and cries a deep hard cleansing cry. Beautifully done.
Louis: Most everything as you described. The cry is more like a stentorian roar
The other aspect is the next morning - light is sharper, colours more clear and a fresh smell. Great. Thanks for your comment Kathryn.
Love the grass in the foreground, Louis...it does not look at all impressed by the dazzling display overhead.
Louis: Yep ray, they have the wind to contend with
Great shot Louis. The grass in the foreground highlights so well this beautiful and spectacular cloud!
Louis: Thank you Richard - it does make it special
This is a great capture, love the dark sihouettes of the grass, that cloud is just magnificent, so bright, the sky so dramatic, I made this a likey to me.
Louis: Thank you Astrid - it is a honour.
Fantastic composition! I love the grasses dancing in the breeze.
Louis: Thanks for the comment martie.
Super super shot! It does look a bit like a volcanic explosion.
Louis: Thanks Scarlet - the cumulus nimus clouds can be quite dramatic
Breathtaking
Louis: Thanks Tracy - most of us is unable to sleep at 10:26
This is a terricif photograph, Louis. You have really captured something special with the various features here.
Louis: Thank you chad, it is a wonderful place here
A bit poetry considering this magnificent, "very white" cloud:
Remembrances of Marie A. by Bertolt Brecht (Scott Horton trans.) 1 On a certain day in the blue-moon month of September Beneath a young plum tree, quietly I held her there, my quiet, pale beloved In my arms just like a graceful dream. And over us in the beautiful summer sky There was a cloud on which my gaze rested It was very white and so immensely high And when I looked up, it had disappeared. 2 Since that day many, many months Have quietly floated down and past. No doubt the plum trees were chopped down And you ask me: what’s happened to my love? So I answer you: I can’t remember. And still, of course, I know what you mean But I honestly can’t recollect her face I just know: there was a time I kissed it. 3 And that kiss too I would have long forgotten Had not the cloud been present there That I still know and always will remember It was so white and came from on high. Perhaps those plum trees still bloom And that woman now may have had her seventh child But that cloud blossomed just a few minutes And when I looked up, it had disappeared in the wind.
Louis: A melancholic poem about a precious moment in time Philine
Beautiful interplay of light and shadow. I really like the waving grasses in the foreground.
Louis: Thank you Red Pen, it is a place of beauty
Terrific view of inflating cummulous .... Great low shooting angle. richard
Louis: Thank you Richard - a late afternoon picture to close the series of where I had the break.
Looks like trouble brewing. Beautiful trouble, though!
Louis: Yes Martin, trouble can be beautiful?
My word ... this image packs a punch ! Mighty cloudscape ... i should say so. Brilliant capture. :o) John
Louis: Thank you John
woah love that brooding sky Louis but i am going against the grain here when i say i feel the grass for me is a distraction, that said i hope you have a super weekend
Louis: Heck and I have been crawling around to bring the grass into play
I also like the foreground you have included - and the sky is amazing. Love Kathryns comment and your answer - looking at the pic and reading it is almost like taking a long journey to the other end of the world...
Louis: Thanks for the comment Aksel. I would say that Kathryn is in touch with her surrounds - I like her blog as well.
Ik vind deze absoluut een van de toppers. Heel mooi.
Louis: Bedankt Giep - voor mij ook een met xtra
Really lovely, Louis. I like how much depth can be seen in the photo.
Louis: Thank you Jewlya - a favourite of mine
I love this one. Great the way the light has just caught the billowing cloud. The foreground grasses are also very evocative.
Louis: Thank you Ian, I was quite pleased with this one because it captured the moment perfectly.
Wow. Fantastic clouds and lighting.
Louis: Thank you carsten and thanks for leaving a comment.
Ditto everyone, I missed this one.
Louis: Thanks Nigel - stay out of the gym, it can be unhealthy
This is such an evocative image. Magnificent sky.
Louis: Thanks jamoula, we have great skies at times. Sometimes the camera is not handy
