What an interesting road! Great capture of the shadow.
Louis: Thank you martie - it is a road I like. There I travel once a year for sublime rest.
Lovely view, Louis. The road helps draw the eyes through the image. Very well done.
Louis: Thanks for the comment kay.
Lovely view Louis. The meandering road highlights the shot beautifully
Louis: Thanks Aussie, I thought so too.
I love this pic- a twisting/meandering path (or road?) through a heather-landscape, our life-ways are going often like this one, but mostly up and down!
Louis: The part of life's road that is good also has some left and right turns like these
Beautiful view Louis. I like the sinuous road leading the eyes through the picture!
Louis: Thank you Richard - I love this place.
It does make you wonder why the road wasn't just built straight ... but I'm glad it isn't... Maybe they found animals grazing on the original straight route and just had to move the road round them. richard
Louis: What you can't see clearly in the picture is that the road goes downhill, Richard. It is a lightly gravelled road and prone to wash away when it rains. The turns lead the water off the road to minimise damage. I thought someone with your interests may want to know the real reason. Thanks for the fun comment.
You know I have a musical choice for that...A Long and Winding Road. Very nice, Louis.
Louis: When I uploaded, I thought of you and the Long and Winding road
great how you can follow the road
Louis: I follow this road a few time per year Chantal. It leads to rest for me
The winding road to nowhere
Lovely shot Louis
Louis: Thank you Tracy. Not to worry, at least it goes to the dairy
Good view The word of a song came to my mined the long and winding road.
Louis: When I uploaded the picture, I thought of the same - and also of Mary who always has some music to accompany her pictures. Thanks for the comment vintage.
Fabulous track, Louis, and you have grabbed an incredibly rich palette of colours for this gorgeous picture.
Louis: Thank you ray. The area down there is referred to as a wetland. Magic places with lots of colour. I may one day blog pictures of wild flowers I have taken there.
Most of the colour in this picture is due to it being autumn. With this kind of view you can see that the grassland changes colour the same as trees
That is a beautiful road - like the colours here too - the redish tree in the right bottom corner is very nice - I have seen pics like this in BW where they have used some dodging and burning to lift the rouad - have you tried it?
Louis: I have never done any dodging and burning exercise - but I can give it a try, thank you Aksel. The colours in this picture show it is autumn in the grassland.
in one corner out the next, perfect composition Louis
Louis: Thanks for this comment tim.
Heel geslaagde foto.
Louis: Bedankt lieverd. In die weg kreeg Ninke autoles van Hugo.
The road makes a nice lead through the picture Louis.
Looks like there is someone walking on the road at the bottom of the picture.
Louis: Thanks Magnus. That someone's name is Hannie and she is sitting on the side of the road, waiting for a lift that will pick her up soon.
What a romantic road, curving through all that color. Lovely capture.
Louis: Thanks Jewlya. That road means a rest period for me, so I just love it.
this i like very much Louis...the long and winding road. working my way backwards to find out where you have been!
Louis: Thanks liam, halfway up the foot of the mountain also at Verlorenkloof.
Beautiful ! The path is really nice from this point of view, and I like the warm colortones !
Louis: Thank you Imaginerf - even the grass showed some autumn colours.
