photoblog image Closing

By the Way:

This continues the series of photo opportunities I see along the 100km road I travel to work everyday. The series started with http://www.louis.shutterchance.com/photoblog/By_the_way_/

I could have called this one 'Missed Opportunity'. When I first saw it, the sun was directly behind the 3-point star, however I had to turn around and the star is a revolving one. So getting the two aligned would take the patience of a number of days.

Closing: I am not too far from home when I pass this dealership. They will be closing for business. I am closing this week and wish you all a memorable weekend.

Brilliant color and a nice composition, even if you do see it as a missed opportunity.
Louis: Thanks Red Pen, I was not sure about the composition

Impressive star, to make its presence known even before the sun has departed.

Impressive composition, Louis.
Louis: So it does, so it does - it also doesn't allow the sun to set right on it - cheers Ray

Lovely sunset shot. Glad you took the opp to take this one, Louis. smile
Louis: Thank you Kay - it was a real beauty at the time
Fantastic colour, Louis. I really like the composition, too. (:o)
Louis: Thanks Rosalyn, I was unsure about the composition, but you are the third to say it is good - so I feel more positive as well.
The sun that never sets eh, Louis. What a strange pattern in the sky.
Louis: Thanks Chad - the pattern is due to the obstacle I had to shoot through. A fence consisting of smallish rectangle blocks. I like the result smile

I had to smile when this opened, it is pure delight, the sky I mean, the star.....it is so funny, a friend of mine has a small car and her bumper sticker is, ....if I wanted to drive Mercedes, I would have taken a cab....
Most taxi in Holland are Mercedes.
It will be a memorable weekend...its my birthday wink
Louis: Yes Astrid, I am aware that the dutch thinks of the M-B as a taxi. They won't allow themselves to be driven around in any other car.
Congratulations on your birthday, oh great captain.

Happy Birthday to Astrid, of course, and a happy weekend to you, Louis. But why in the world would this business be closing?? They might want a copy of this image as a way of remembering their last days??!!
Louis: Nah, not closing down - just closing the doors for the day. If they were closing down, I would have gone checking for closing down bargains smile
Beautiful sunset, especially like the tones and silhouettes. Nice composition.
Louis: Thank you John - it is re-assuring to read from so many that the composition is good - especially when I was not so sure about it.
Wow! Beautiful sunset and wellcaptured!
Louis: Thank you Frank

What a breathtaking sunset sky- never seen before! There are interesting patterns in the sky? Na ja, the Mercedes-star cuts a fine figure here in the evening sun, but its glory seems to end in SA, why? -the sun evening colours are the real eternal 'toppertjes'! Een goede afsluiting van de week en een heel prettig weekeind toegewenst van Philine
Louis: Oh I have been misunderstood (not only you) they are not closing down - just closing shop for the day. The pattern is due to the obstacle I had to shoot through. A fence consisting of smallish rectangle blocks. I thought the result to be interesting. We hebben wel geweldige zonsondergangen, vooral in de winter wanneer d'r materie in de lucht is - geen regen en de verstuifde plantengroei en stof hangen in de lucht. Bedankt voor't commentaar Philine

A superb image, and what an amazing sunset
Louis: Thank you, oh serenely a contented soul smile
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?

Have a good weekend yourself
Louis: Thanks Bill - since the Lord doesn't buy stuff you are probably not heard. Or maybe you are referring to Lord Tiff smile In some aspects a great weekend so far, thank you
That's a big car. Oh, it's a building wink

Great shot
Louis: Thanks mats - yes you are right smile

Louis, this is very well balanced as is in a way it never could be with the sun behind the star. Good stuff!
Louis: The sun behind the star would have been a totally different composition, but thanks I am happy to see the composition passes for good.
Fantastic shot Louis !!! Very very nice sunset, I like shades of orange and yellow of the sky, which they transmit force!
Louis: Thanks cashondeo - I thought the effect created by the wire fence is very interesting as well.

like red, i too amd impressed by the composition, not to mention the amazing colour... that star looks positively ginormous!
Louis: It is ginormous smile thanks PhotoSam
Very impressive, strong picture. I was wondering about the vertical and horizontal lines. Can you explain it to me?
Louis: Thanks Julischka. The pattern is due to the obstacle I had to shoot through. A fence consisting of smallish rectangle blocks. I thought the result to be interesting.

fantastic image Louis, superb work.
Louis: Thank you dear sir somewhere in Armley smile
I see your missed opportunity...I still think you have come up with a quite interesting pic...the different shapes and sizes and the two circles forming a diagonal make this work for me...
Louis: Thank you Aksel. Thanks for understanding as well.
A very unique and beautiful sunset. Well done !!!
Louis: Thank you Laurette
