More like Tennant Creek than Amsterdam, Louis, but wonderful stuff, nevertheless.

Perhaps we could mount of of these on the top of every car, and generate our own electricity as we go...Lexus W...
Louis: Brilliant idea - make our own electric toyotas.
Thanks for the comment Ray.

those windmills are synonymous with Australia to me, this reminds me so much of an Australian farm. Really effective shot Louis
Louis: I think all of us from erstwhile colonies know these pumping mechanisms. Thanks for the comment zed.

This is the kind of windmill I grew up with in the States, Louis, never knowing there was any other kind. I LOVE this in silouhette form like this. It's a Likey for me.
Louis: Thank you for the honour Ginnie.
Like two beautiful flowers on top of a hill - the high contrast suits the subject - I also like all the brances, adds life to the picture smile
Louis: Thanks Aksel. I also thought the branches add a nice touch.
with a white background on the site the silouette jumps out
Louis: Thanks for appreciating Chantal.

Wonderful Louis - we have one of these near us and I think "I must photograph that" everytime I drive past! One of these days.
Louis: I believe we all have "I must photograph that" items around us that we mean to do something about - some time smile I have. When I see some of the more graphical photographers' results I know there are even a lot of opportunities I don't see yet. But one of these days...
@ zed: could be a dutch landscape as well... smile
Nice one, Louis!
Louis: Hah, maybe he will read this smile Thanks Frank.

I love the graphic quality to this image. I always find these contraptions fascinating - somehow redolent of the Wild West. I know the one that Blackdog is referring to - I have photographed it on several occasions but somehow never managed to capture it in such a dramatic style as yours.
Louis: Thank you Ingrid. Much of the dramatic style is due to the fact that I was on lower ground and a huge rock between us. You know - the everyday thing from a different angle.
This is just fabulous Louis. Great PP job.
A likey for me.
Louis: Thank you richard. Je pense que le c'est un honneur.

two windmills proud next to each other....LOVE IT, great silhouette, I have seen many of them in the States, love them as Ginnie loves 'ours'
Louis: They are real characters on our farms. Thank you Astrid.
This is different for you, but you picked a good subject to do it with, the silhouette really stands out on the white page!
Louis: Next week will mainly be some landscapes and then thereafter I am going to hit the "different for me" trail. Some stuff I wanted to do for some time now. Involving b&w, patterns etc. Thanks for your comment Linda.
Stunning...Great work Louis.
Louis: Thank you Ron
Charming sillhouette.
Louis: Thanks Chad, I play the fiddle a bit different from you smile

What a brilliant black and white smile) Very cool compo wink
Louis: Thank you MARIANA, glad to know you survived the worst of the cold smile
Nice silhouette. Reminds me of my dad's farm. He had a windmill that looks just like those pictured. Eventually replaced by an electric pump.
Louis: That farm is a photographic treasure chest. Thanks John.
