throwing titles like these, to stay out of trouble you better remain silent in teh presence of ladies, Louis. smile
Louis: Fortunately she can't read, so if you would keep silent ...
She is a beautiful old cow Louis... great treatment... perhaps you should take vz's advice lol....petersmile
Louis: Heh, he shouldn't worry. Our wild elephants can't read.

Excellent Louis: bet she's quite an age
Louis: Thanks Chris. My guess would be 15 years.

Oh, a very old cow, and I admire how you captured and emphasized her 'gegerbte' coat - the b&w photo enhances the dep greyness and the greatness I always combine with elephants and their age and their remarkable memory...
Louis: Thank you Philine. The emphasis on their size and greyness is what Nick Brandt's style is about - that is how I see it.

She wear her wrinkles well
Louis: Good cows do, vintage
The B&W conversion really suits here Louis, making the elephant detail really stand out.
Louis: That is what I admire about Nick Brandt's style. Thanks Fred.

Had a go at Nick Brandt but it wouldn't load - influx of SCers maybe. Will try later.

A tremendous photo Louis and your low pov really bring home the size and power of this wonderful beast. Good news from the BBC item on the Ivory Trade here...

The greed of man strikes again.
Louis: Hope you could get Nick loaded. He has some really good stuff. Thanks for the comment blackdog. I read the bbc article. It is the same with our rhino's. People in the east may buy, but the killing happens here and perpetrated by locals. The age old song of Africa - greed indeed. Same with the blood diamonds as well.
Awesome shot and treatment, Louis.
Louis: Thank you Mary
I am not good at ageing elephants but this one looks old to me Louis. I like these beasts.
Louis: I can only guess myself, but I think of 15 years. Could be a liar, though.
One of the best elephant capture I have ever seen Louis. Going straight to my likeys!
Louis: Merci m'sieu. It is an honour for my picture.
WOW, very nice picture.
Louis: Thank you Victoria
Fantastic capture, Louis. Your treatment is spot on. A Likey for me as well.
Louis: Thank you Beverly. Another honour for my picture.

I like this old wrinkly.
Louis: Wrinkly? Oh, you are busy identifying ...
That's a very fine Heffalump picture Louis
Louis: Always thought of Heffalump as a youngster, Bill.
Louis: Thanks, you were there at the time.
Really works well, Louis.
Louis: Thank you Graeme
Wonderful image of her!! She's just awesome!
Louis: Thank you Elizabeth. Elephants are just awesome, in so many ways.
Awesome girl elephant.
Louis: Quite a beauty, hey, Jacquelyn smile
Ha, that's a very old cow indeed!
Louis: She is a great old girl.
Fantastic capture. Great in B and W. Cheers, Dave.
Louis: Thank you Dave
