photoblog image Poppies from Sopron

Poppies from Sopron

These poppies were right in front of my feet while I was taking yesterday's church picture.

The city of Sopron is a popular weekend destination for austrians.  They go there for dentistry and meat products. When you walk through town you see a lot of dentist and butchery shingles.

Processing: Light crop, a solid black layer multiplied and merged down, light shadow contrast to lift the foreground plant details from the shadows.

Louis, you know so much about pp. I have a lot to learn from you. This is beautiful!
Louis: Thank you Kay.
Very nice! You lost me somewhere after light crop. I know less than most here about fixing photos lol. This photo reminds me of an underwater scene for some reason. It is beautiful.
Louis: Thank you DD. It is all not so difficult - Photoshop has help files smile
"Hope at the end of the tonnel..." Stunning colours. Thanx for the help regarding the lenses. Much appreciated Louis.
Louis: After seeing your butterflies today, I understand your lens need better. I don't know how I have missed them as I am normally on the lookout for saffie pictures. Anyhow helping is my pleasure.

Thanks for your comment here Ferdi.

Very well processed, I like the final effect - amazing colours you have achieved!
Louis: Thanks for the comment Monika. Yes it rains allover the world. I know some desert areas that gets only 12mm rain per year. That could be a nice trip?
Very nicely done Louis.
Louis: Thank you bridge
Lovely Shot Louis wink...Looks like it's looking at me...
Louis: A nice girl like you ... who wouldn't be looking? Thanks for the comment.

I LOVE poppies, Louis (don't see them here in Georgia at all!), and especially like the hint of 3 of them hiding underneath. And to think they were there at your feet!
Louis: We only see poppies in some gardens in the summer. These wild poppies in Hungary was a first for me - in some places filling entire fields.
Thank for the comment Ginnie.
very good crop, to fill the image this wayt
Louis: Thanks a lot Chantal.

liking that black layer...gives it strange but very beautiful tones...
Louis: These solid layers can enhance a picture a lot, especialy if the colour matching is right - I am still feeling my way through the colour matching. Thanks for the comment PhotoSam.
Louis, is an impression mine or is that every time you use more pp? In this photo, I like as you obtain that the red colors emphasize of the dark bottom!
Louis: After my visit to europe in May this year I sorted my 450 pictures and in the process I have applied serious pp to about 20 of them. This technique of today I have used before and posted the pictures in the past. I think certain pictures just ask for some pp smile and others not. Thanks for the comment José-Angel.
The dimension and depth you've given the red is wonderful.
Louis: Thanks for the comment Red Pen. You are partial to the reds, I guess. smile
Nicely framed and processed. Why do you merge the layer down?
Louis: It is like the politicians (government or boardroom) always say: Good question. Merging's main purpose is to reduce the size of the file that you work with, which can be very large with multiple layers. The merging must be automatic behaviour left over from the days that I have battled with dial-up and pc memory. Those days are thankfully over for now.
Thanks for the comment Martin.
I like this one a lot. The colours work well and it is interesting to see the new poppies creeping up from beneath.
Louis: Thanks for the comment Chad. I like that the half hidden flashes of red hold attention.
Beautiful contrast between red and green ! I like it Louis !
Louis: It is surprising how the black layer can enhance the colours in the picture. Thanks Zebigleb.
